The Center for International Investment and Commercial Arbitration (CIICA) stands as Pakistan’s pioneering hub for both domestic and international arbitration, along with mediation services. CIICA holds the distinction of being the first and sole arbitration/ADR center in Pakistan licensed and registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), aligning meticulously with Pakistan’s new ADR regulations. Established in April 2015, CIICA has fervently advocated for the significance of domestic and international arbitration. Operational since May 2016, following the finalization of its institutional arbitration rules, the constitution of its Arbitration Court/Council, establishment of its Secretariat, and formation of its panel of arbitrators, CIICA has been at the forefront of arbitration services in the nation. A notable aspect of CIICA’s offerings is its expedited arbitration services, where a single arbitrator issues a verdict within a concise timeframe of 90 days. Throughout its journey, CIICA has actively organized numerous conferences and training workshops, fostering arbitration expertise among diverse demographics, including law students, legal practitioners, engineers, and commercial court judges. Furthermore, CIICA is dedicated to enhancing and modernizing Pakistan’s arbitration landscape, spearheading initiatives aimed at reforming the country’s arbitration regime, exemplified by the establishment of a dedicated committee for this purpose.
