The President

DANIELLA VANESSA WOWOR

Greetings from ALSA International,

The Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) is a non-political, student-run, non-profit organisation. With 18 National Chapters: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal, and 1 Observer, Bangladesh, 1 Pre-Observer, Nepal, and 1 Associate Chapter, United Kingdom — with the total of 21 Chapters, ALSA has grown from its founding in 2002 to become one of the biggest associations for law students worldwide. Each National Chapter is made up of Local Chapters from the best law, social science, and university departments in Asia. We currently have over 12,000 members, and that number is growing annually. With an official seat in Zurich, Switzerland, ALSA is a recognised international organisation governed by Articles 60 to 79 of the Swiss Civil Code.

The key visions of ALSA are:

1) focusing on a global vision on the promising future of Asia;

2) promoting an awareness of justice and the rule of law across Asia; and

3) facilitate the recognition of social responsibilities amongst law students in Asia.

ALSA is continuously working to comprehend and value the differences among the many legal systems in Asia. It provides a forum for Asian law students to communicate and exchange ideas about the principles of law in society. The four pillars of ALSA International, which are internationally minded, socially responsible, academically committed, and legally skilled, will also be strengthened by encouraging the law students to cultivate a creative and cohesive spirit within the network.

Without our partners’ steadfast support and substantial help, ALSA would not be in its current position. As a result, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you and extend an invitation for you to join us in expanding the options available to law students throughout Asia.

Should there occur any interest, contact the ALSA International Moot Court Competition committee at alsainternational.aimcc@gmail.com. We would be delighted to assist you with any additional questions you may have or offer advice on how to move towards mutual understanding and agreement. Your institution will have the chance to take part in ALSA’s events and obtain direct access to our networks to market your brand to law students throughout Asia. ALSA always aims for a mutually beneficial partnership with our partners and sponsors.
